Ingrid Griffith, MA
Ingrid Griffith has a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from The City University of New York. She teaches Public Speaking and Civic Engagement in the Communication and Theatre Arts Department. Ingrid is a freelance health and fitness writer and has written for magazines including Essence, Pro Sports, Source, and Ofnote Magazine. Ms. Griffith has taught Acting Technique and Voice and Diction in the Communications Studies Department at the University of Guyana.
Ingrid Griffith is the writer and performer of Unbossed & Unbowed, a story inspired by the life and times of the icon/trailblazer Shirley Anita (St. Hill) Chisholm.
In March 2020, Griffith participated in Conch Shell Productions Hear Her Call Caribbean American Women’s Theater Festival where she received the “Outstanding Playwriting That Inspires Social Change” Award for Unbossed & Unbowed. Griffith has been in off-broadway theatrical productions in and around New York City. She studied and worked as an actor and is a member of (SAG/AFTRA, Dramatists Guild). For the past five years, Ingrid has been performing her award-winning and internationally- successful solo show, Demerara Gold, about a Guyanese girl’s immigrant experience.
