Jesus “Chucho” Garcia

Jesus “Chucho” Garcia served as the Venezuelan Ambassador to Angola, Congo, and several other African nations. He is a leader in the hemispheric struggle for human rights, economic justice, and against racism. “Chucho” is the founder of the AfroVenezuelan Network and the AfroLatinAmerican Strategic Alliance that both have a strong presence throughout Latin America.

He has written and spoken widely on culture, history, and globalization and weaves together the rich history of cultural resistance with an activist perspective on today’s struggles.
